The Range Recreation Civic Center (RRCC), located in Eveleth, MN, is a multi million-dollar event center, curling arena, and home to Curl Mesabi. Opened in 1999, the RRCC and Curl Mesabi partnership is one of the first examples of inter-community cooperation between the Quad Cities of Virginia, Mountain Iron, Eveleth and Gilbert.

The RRCC was built through an unprecedented Joint Powers Agreement between the four cities. Curl Mesabi was formed through the equally unprecedented merger of three long standing small curling clubs in Eveleth, Gilbert and Virginia. Although managed by Curl Mesabi, the RRCC is owned by the four cities. It is a unique symbiotic relationship, with each entity providing resources and a workforce the other could not.

During the non-curling season, the RRCC hosts numerous family and community events, including wedding receptions, class reunions, and fundraisers for local charitable organizations.

During the curling season,  the state-of-the-art curling facility has attracted National, World, and Olympic Qualifying events to the Quad Cities. Through curling events, Curl Mesabi preserves the history and heritage of the curling culture on the Iron Range. Curling programs extend from youth to seniors, creating a unique multi-generational atmosphere.

No matter what time of year, the Range Recreation Civic Center makes a significant economic, social and cultural impact on the Quad Cities and the surrounding area.
